When I told my brother Monty about my plan to work officially starting my photo business, he got all excited. If there is one thing my brother and I have in common is our tendency to dream big and think up wild and crazy ideas.
He suggested I keep a journal of sorts to track all of the good shooting locations that I find and the best times of day/year to visit. So, if I figured if I'm out and about, I may as well take sample pics to show the general area and colors. It also helps me get to know my camera better. Although, it's very hard to compose an image and the exposure and focus correct while using a remote!! I have quite a few images that are focusing on the wrong point or that cut a body part or two off.
So, today I went on a scouting trip just down the road to a local park. The park is way bigger than I thought it was!! Good mountain view, water, wildflowers, cool rocks, some benches, climbing trees, a bridge, some cool staircases, and other things I didn't explore because I was hungry and thirsty and threw in the towel.
It was fun. And even though dozens of people probably thought I was the most vain person on the planet, I don't care. Me acting like a geek is for the greater good!
