I received my new lens in the mail on Wednesday.  I did a little happy dance when I came home to an Adorama box on my Welcome mat.  Packages are the best kind of mail to get!  I ordered a Nikon 50mm f1.8 on Monday morning after having a long discussion with myself through Sunday.  I have lots of discussions with myself these days.

This whole photography business thing has me excited.  More so than it ever has before.  I've thought about trying to make money at it previously.  But something always stopped me.  It was usually the business side of things that caused me to hesitate and move on to something more concrete and with a better chance of actually coming to fruition.

The more I think about things, the more I think that maybe it's all just about timing.  Maybe I easily blew off all those other thoughts and considerations because I had to be at a good place in life to be able to have a bit of freedom to take the risk.  I have a stable job with good benefits and a work week that allows me the free time to pursue photography.  It seems like this may be the time to strike if I'm ever going to know if it was meant to be or not.

So, with my nifty fifty lens, I'm going to dive head first into this thing.  I may have to give a little at first in order to make some headway but I'm looking at this as a long-term adventure and wherever it may lead is where it leads.

I guess this is my fair warning to you.  Expect to see a lot more on this blog regarding photography, photo adventures, photo shoots, and learning the ins and outs of running an actual business.  Have no fear though, there will still be plenty of other normal ramblings.
