Long Run Sunday

This sums it all up...

Sweat was burning my left eye!!  Bit salty.

I started too late.  Spent the first three miles in the sun and was overheating rapidly.  I couldn't stop thinking about how hot and miserable it was.  I finally said the hell with it and started a run/walk through mile three.

I changed my route so I could get in some shade and walked through some shady areas in hopes of resetting myself.  Finding shade helped some but I was already taxed.  I jogged through the last mile to finish the five miles upright.

I stretched.  And guzzled water.  Then I sat in a cold bath to prevent inflammation and soreness.  It didn't really feel cold but it did feel good.  Brinkley doesn't understand cold baths.  He kept coming in to check on me.

He knows me too well.  I managed to dump some protein shake into the water while shaking it.  Rather than get out, I just sat there in a protein shake/cold water bath.  Oy, one of those mornings.

I'm glad it's done.  I'm going to do some cleaning and run a few errands later.  I have a lengthy list of things to work on this weekend.  At least the toughest part is out of the way!
