Brent and I watched a movie called Wedding Wars last night. I'll watch anything so I picked it up from the library after reading the back panel. Brent didn't read the back panel before putting it in the DVD player and was surprised. The movie featured two brothers, one engaged to be married to the governor's daughter, and the other their gay wedding plan who goes on strike after finding out the governor is against gay marriage. And after Googling for an image, I just found out the movie was an A&E original movie. I didn't know they made movies. Anywho...
I thought it was a funny movie. It was kind of odd seeing John Stamos play a gay man on screen. Very odd. But the highlight was definitely Stamos singing at the wedding reception finale. I was having Full House and Jesse and the Rippers flashbacks.
After the movie, Brent started The Pacific, which was another library find. I've been wanting to see the mini-series since it came out a few years ago. Brent fell asleep during the first episode so we'll probably have to watch it again. I thought the first episode (or Part) was great. My history geek heart loved every minute of it. And all I could think about when see the young Marines hit the beach and walked their way into the jungle was "they have no clue what's coming." The boys made it through their first few fire fights with "the Japs" mostly unscathed physically. I'm sure the next few parts will show just how gruesome it really got in the pacific theatre. Did I mention Brent fell asleep? During an all out shoot 'em up, fire fight at that. Only he could manage that.
Following Part I, I took I quick bubble bath because I was freezing. I've found a bath is the quickest way to get my warm so at 11pm, I hopped in the bath and started reading Voyager. Last fall, I read Outlander and loved it so my awesome friend Bryn gave me her copies of Voyager and Dragonfly in Amber. I had started Voyager once before but never got to the hooked stage so I tried again last night. And I got hooked. But once I stopped reading for the night (long after the bath), I realized I had started the wrong book... in that, Voyager is not the second book. Dragonfly in Amber is the second book. Oy, with the poodles already!! I don't know what to do. Should I keep reading or start the other book?? Crap.
Anywho, I've rambled enough and now I'm going to go run before it gets too hot or too smoky.
