Off to a good start!
My weekend has started off pretty darn good. Mr. Miles and I fit in a two mile run this morning. It was our first run in a long time! I got to see his super duper smiley face!! He loves going for a run!! Unfortunately, that was all of the excitement for Brinkley today. I spent the rest of the day out at my parent's new house assembling furniture and moving stuff around. Next weekend, I'll be painting at the old place.
My mom also made me a second birthday cake! And Moxon decorated it with Lion King characters! It scrumptious. And I'd be lying if I said I haven't already dug into the leftovers I brought home. Yum!
I've decided tomorrow will be a super productive day for me. I have lots to do around here. My clothing piles are a little out of control. I managed to empty out my two running clothes drawers this morning in search of a matching pair of socks, so I need to sort everything and put it all back in place. I think I'll be adding to the garage sale piles soon!!
I'm also going to do some cooking tomorrow, for me and Brink. Brinkley is going to a home-cooked diet starting this week. And I need to get back to cooking for myself. I'll be stocking up the fridge and freezer to get us through the next few weeks.
I have a few errands to run but for the most part, I'm going to try spending the next two days entirely at home. My mom did tell me I had to run three miles tomorrow though. So I better get out and pound the pavement so I can say I did what she told me too! She just knows that I have a six mile "race" coming up next Monday and should stop being so lazy! Always looking out for my best interest, she is!
The last time I went running was around the beginning of the month - BEFORE vacation. I thought a two and half week break would make for a painful first run. It wasn't too bad though!! I'm working on a strategy to make me a stronger, faster runner by the end of the summer. I'm going to try my best to turn Brinkley's hip dysplasia and limited run capacity into a blessing by finally incorporating hills and speed work into my weekly workouts. The one hill that I plan to run, I can take Brink along and have him be my spectator while I run up and down, up and down. He can kick it in the shade where I can see him as I do my run.
I'm tired just thinking about running hills. And yawning my head off. Time for bed, I think. Goodnight, all.
