September ramblings

September?!?!  What happened to June, July, and August??  Oh well, September means fall is coming!! It's my favorite time of year!!  Here's to hoping for a long fall with a very late frost.  Last year we got shortchanged on the leaves changing colors.  Winter can just stay away until Christmas Eve as far as I'm concerned!!

September also means we have a week and two days until road trip time!  I'm ready!!  I found out yesterday that Harley Davidson has a factory in Kansas City so we have another thing added to the list of things to seek out.  It's the factory where Sportsters and VRods are made!!! I'll get to see where my Sportster, Bruiser, was made!!  Not sure how the blogging from the road thing will work, but I'm hauling Brent's laptop along so hopefully our hotels will have free internet!

September also means Kyle's wedding is just around the corner.  Brent's the best man.  He has to rent his "tux" for $150.  This isn't a true tux.  It's the pants, coat, and white shirt.  No tie.  No vest.  No cummerbund.  Seems kind of like a rip off to me.  At least when a girl spends $150 on a bridesmaids dress she gets to keep it and try to make her money back.  Anywho, that leaves me a handful of weeks to figure out what to wear to the wedding.  September brings shopping too, I guess.

September also means braces are coming.  They will be my second round.  My wonderful parents paid for the first round when I was in high school.  This time it's all on me.  Luckily my teeth are still close to straight - I'll get some fine tuning done up top and some major molar shifting done on the bottom.  I'm trying to head off problems now so I don't have bigger problems down the road.  Good times.  I'm working on getting a second opinion.  Damn things are pricey so I'm taking mom's piece of advice and shopping around a bit before I commit to an orthodontist.  I'm excited for it though.  There have been orthodontic advancements since I got mine off and it shouldn't be as painful this time around!
