It's finally hit me - we leave tomorrow. Squeee!!! I finally feel like I'm going on vacation. Why now? I made a reservation for tomorrow night. We're kicking off our road trip by heading east through Kansas. Our first stop is the great town of Abilene, population 6,300. It's claim to fame is the 34th President of the United States, Dwight David Eisenhower. He wasn't born there and he didn't die there, but he did grow up there.
Brent and I will be starting our road trip off right by doing something we've never done before. We're staying at a bed and breakfast! Abilene's Victorian Inn to be specific. And we're staying in the Eisenhower Room, complete with walkout balcony!
It's pushing mindnight. I should go to bed, but I'm too excited to sleep!!!
