I love our house! And I love that Brent had a fire going when I woke up!

I've decided I need to stop ignoring my plantar fasciitis that's been bugging me for the past six months. So I put some shoes on first thing this morning so I'm not walking in hardwood floors and tile barefoot as much.

After watching the Castle premiere, I went for a run with Mr. Miles. We did an easy two miles. I may try to do 2 more in the morning.

I then went to Target. While there I scored a free Dunkin' Donuts coffee mug because I bought two bags of the new flavors!!

I got a burst of motivation when I got home and decided to dig up some bushes!! It was nearly as difficult as it could have been.

And I finally made my little Indian corn decor thingy. Not bad for a first attempt, I thought.

And then while Brent worked on some BBQ chicken, I made some pumpkin donut muffins! Bother turned out fantastic!!

We spent the rest of the night watching NCIS premieres by the fire.

Yup, that fire never gets old!

It's back to work tomorrow. I think I'm ready.

Christmas Prep

Brent and I are one step closer to being ready for Christmas. We put together our new gigantic tree to check if the lights worked.

Brinkley was rather intrigued by it until we moved it over into his corner.

It drew blood.

And then I unpacked a Fall decor box and this scared the bejesus out of me. Don't worry, they are fake. Still made me scream like a scared little girl.

Isn't it pretty!?!? I still have some more work to do on the mantel. And then I want to tackle the outside and the hutch.

One last day of vacation ...

Things I did today...

Emissions test... so that I could then get my vehicle registration renewed.

Got a marriage license.

Left a nasty note (on a Disney notesheet) for the person who parked on top of my car while I was getting the above mentioned marriage license and vehicle registration renewed.

Worked on some of the last wedding crafts.

And washed the '67 and took it for a spin to get the cobwebs off.  It looks so damn sharp when it's wet.  Now if we could just find a place to buff it up and what not to look that darn shiny when it's not wet.

Tomorrow brings even more fun.  Not really - dentist appt. anyone?  Ugh.

Sunday Funday

After my bike ride I went down to Denver for the NF Walk at Clement Park.  It was hot, hot, HOT but it was awesome to see so many people out supporting NF research.  We walked for about a mile and half and then our group hit up the local frozen yogurt shop to keep us all from melting away!

The pumpkin spice and cup of joe frozen yogurt was my favorite.  There's something underneath all of the goodies I piled on top, trust me!

I stopped at the new Cabela's on the way home.  And even though I walked around the entire store, I didn't buy a single thing.  That's not to say that I didn't find a whole bunch of things that I wanted to buy though!

And then the best part of Sunday ... Brent came home!!  Woohoo!

Starting things off right

VACATION!!!!!  I love that word.  Seventeen days of freedom starts now!

I slept in a little bit this morning but still made it out the door early enough to get my bike ride in before the heat started to skyrocket.  I knocked out sixteen miles this morning - my longest ride yet!  And the best part ... I got my first whiff of fall leaves.  You know the smell.

Now I'm off to scrounge up some lunch and clean for a little bit.

The ONLY downside of fall approaching

Nobody loves fall quite like I do.  It is my favorite time of year.  I've probably said that a million times on the blog but it's worthy of being repeated.  There is a downside to this spectacular season though and that is the loss of daylight hours.

My mornings are increasingly darker even though I'm getting up at the same time every day.  And the amount of time I have to get outside after work is decreasing at a depressingly fast rate.  I don't want to be too overdramatic about it.  I'm still over the moon about hoodie weather approaching but I can't help but be a tad bit grumpy about being stuck on the shift that I'm on.  By the time the equinox hits at the end of September, my ten hour shift will suck up ever minute of daylight.

I like being able to wind down at the end of the day and watch the sun set.  This evening's sunset was pretty awesome, even if I was getting rained on while riding my bike!

I did what?!

Guess what I did this morning?

I went running!  I know what you're thinking.  And yes, it has been a while since that happened.  I couldn't tell you the last time that happened.

Taking almost a whole month off from running has probably helped and hurt me.  I hit a pretty big funk and have gained some weight.  Not the greatest feeling 10 days before my wedding but it is what it is.  I think it's helped me because my legs got a break from the pounding for a while.  My freaky right heel pain is still there though.  I'm not sure if that will ever go away.

I was kind of back on track with my eating today.  No coffee shop stop.  My mini-goal - no coffee shop stop until the morning of the wedding following my morning 5k with the girls.  That mini-goal alone should save me about 4,000 calories.  I'll take whatever motivation I can get right now.  It very much feels like I'm back at square one.

I'm going to keep my good day rolling by getting ready for bed early.  Brink was super sick last night and kept me up much later than I was planning.  Thankfully he is feeling much better now so maybe we can both get some rest tonight.
