Heavy sigh
Brent, Brinkley, and I went for hike yesterday. In all of the years I've lived in Ft. Fun and driven up and down the canyon, I've never once hiked Gray Rock. Technically, I guess I still have not hiked it. I gave it a good try on Sunday. We made it about 2.5 miles up the trial or so and then turned back. While a five mile hike in 30 degree weather isn't anything to be disappointed about, I couldn't help but shake my head and clench my fists in frustration. My body couldn't hold up long enough to finish the hike to the top. At one point my legs stung so bad (waking up from so much inactivity) I was literally clenching my fists so I wouldn't itch my legs into oblivion.
Never again. That's what I kept telling myself all the way down the mountain. Never again will I be so miserably disappointed with the state of my being. Never again will I backslide after getting into shape. Never again will I be so fat that I can't complete a simple task. Oh yes, I had one hell of a conversation with myself on the way down that mountain.
Heavy sigh.
