Catching Up

Where have the weeks gone?

All of July was more or less a blur.  I'm sure August will be much of the same.  I'm starting to feel like I have a little more time on my hands now because I'm done working on the condo.  I'm crossing my fingers it sells very soon so that I can really be done with it.

I'm going to do my best to get back in the blogging swing of things.  I had 480 hits on the blog today.  From Germany of all places!  Hello, visitor!

So what's been going on around here...

  • I'm slowly getting some time in the saddle on my road bike.  I spent an over an hour on the bike on Saturday morning and it went off without a hitch.  The padded bike shorts and chamois cream make a huge difference after the fact.
  • I had my last long training run last week.  My half marathon is August 10th.  I need to get back out there for a few 5ks or so before then.  Not tomorrow though.  It's back to work Wednesday and I have to do my best to get out the door on time.
  • I've been digging myself out of a huge mess in my office/scrap/craft room.  I need a name for it.  It feels silly to call it an office.  That's much to formal for me.  Very little office like work gets done in here.
  • Mowed the yard today.  And Brinkley got a shave and ear cleaning.  And the mantel decor was dismantled (ha, see what I did there...).  I'll be working on new decor throughout the week.  I have to get my creative juices flowing.
  • I found a new blog to listen to at random times, The Paperclipping Roundtable.  It has me looking forward to winter time and having some more time for scrapbooking.  I'm intrigued by the Project Life products but I have to wait until I get some of what I have used up.
  • Wedding planning continues.  I could ramble endlessly about this but I don't want to go down that road.  Let's just say that I'm very much ready for September 14th to be over with.
That's it for now.  I'm off to bed.

Hot and humid

I managed to get my morning run done. It was very humid. And kind of miserable. But I did it.

Fireworks Free Fourth

Latest greatest thing...

Seriously. We found it at World Market. I may have to go stock up on a few bags because I think it's a seasonal item.

The past two days I failed to wake up and go running. But I did go for a bike ride each night.

There is definitely going to be a learning curve when it comes to this whole biking thing. Some muscles that haven't been used in a while are feeling the burn. And my arse is feeling it to! Holy rough seat! No bike ride tomorrow. My hiney needs a break.

I am getting up for a run tomorrow though. It's 5k Friday! And maybe 5k Saturday. Sunday is Condo day. And then it's long run Monday. I need an 8 mile run to stay somewhat on track for my August half.

The Rockies game is almost over so I'll be asleep in no time. No fireworks for me this year. Sleep reigns supreme.

Happy Birthday, America!

Hot July

Officially half way through the year!  I'm glad this week has cooled down just a bit but I imagine it will be right back to scorching hot temps in a matter of days.  I should have gone running this morning but I was so exhausted from all of the shrubbery work yesterday that I went to bed about 9:30 and slept for 12 hours.

What does July hold?  Hopefully one race and more training, both running and biking.  I can't wait to sell my condo so that I can buy a new bike.  But that still requires a lot of work before that happens.  I've been cleaning blinds this morning.  And will do some more painting this afternoon.  I'm hoping by the end of next week to have everything wrapped up in a pretty little bow so it can be sold by the end of the month.

I also have lots of wedding stuff to get done.  Two and half months to go... what?!?!?!  I really better work on some things and fast.

And I will have another trainee at work starting mid-July.

So I'm not busy at all.  This month should be fantastic.  Enough rambling, I better get busy.

Shrub removal

I pruned the shrub first to make it more manageable...

Brent did this weird leverage thing with the tree...

And we did bush after bush...

Until we had all of them out...

Brinkley supervised...

One step closer to a fence!!
